Up bright and early for our day in Copenhagen... the skyline was beautiful..
dotted with steeples. We caught the Hop on/ Hop off bus and jumped off at various spots... and just took in the sights of others. Of interest was Tivoli gardens.. Christlandom and the gorgeous summer garden plots. The weather was shining so brightly and warm it was impossible not to enjoy the day.
Picture perfect 17th century Nyharn with its rows of colourful buildings..
once home to Hans Christian Andersen.
Stopped to admire the Trinitatis Church from 1642 and walked the 7.5 spiral turn ramp of the Rundetaarn to the observatory at the top for a magnificent view of the city.
Of course we couldn't miss the chance to visit Amalienborg Palace - home of the Danish royal family.. we watched the changing of the guard and had a photo outside the home of our
Princess Mary.
We had a lovely walk in the sunshine through the harbour side gardens back to the ship...past some magnificent fountains...and the iconic statue of the 'Little Mermaid"
